The Standards We Hold Ourselves To

The Promise

What Makes Our Schools Special

Every one of our schools is licensed in its state, and many go further with accreditations and quality programs. Those standards matter, and we're glad they exist. What drives us is simpler: we believe every child deserves a safe, quality early education experience, and that belief sets our bar before any regulation does.

GOING FURTHER

Accreditations and Quality Programs

Licensing sets a strong foundation, and many of our schools choose to build on it, holding accreditations or participating in their state's quality rating programs. These voluntary standards cover things like curriculum, teacher credentials, and family engagement, and they vary by school and state. Your school's director can tell you exactly which apply.

Standards are a Daily Practice

A standard only matters if it holds on an ordinary Tuesday. Here's how ours do.

Inspected and Accountable

State licensing agencies visit and review our schools regularly, and we welcome it, because outside accountability is good for children.

Trained Beyond Minimum

Teachers complete their state's required training hours each year, plus ongoing professional development, so growth doesn't stop at the requirement.

Curriculum Consistently Delivered

Our school curriculum guides classrooms across our family of schools, so quality of learning doesn't depend on which school you choose.

A Team Watching the Details

Behind every school, a dedicated support team works on training, resources, and quality, catching the small things before they become big ones.

How to Choose a School

Choosing care is a big decision. Here's how families usually find their fit.

Start With Your Priorities

Start with your family's needs: location, hours, ages, and the feel you want when you walk in the door. Knowing your priorities makes every other step easier.

Learn about The School

Explore programs, meet the director, and ask your questions, from daily routines to how teachers communicate. Good schools love the questions; they mean you care.

Come See It for Yourself

Nothing beats a visit. Schedule a tour, watch the classrooms in action, and trust what you see and feel. That gut feeling at drop-off matters.

Why Our Families Trust Us

Izzy Paul
Lakestones Academy - Cartersville
"We toured several other schools before finding Lakestones, and none of them ever felt like the right fit for our family. From the moment we met Adrienne and toured Lakestones, we immediately felt at home! Our daughter absolutely loves her teachers (shoutout to Ms. Hope!), and it gives us so much peace of mind knowing how loved and well taken care of she is throughout the day. Receiving updates and pictures throughout the day truly makes our day and gives us so much reassurance knowing she’s happy, learning, and having fun while we’re away from her. They do such a great job incorporating learning, outdoor play, and fun into her days, and they even provide lunch and snacks. As busy parents, it’s so nice not having to worry about packing a million things for school every morning because they truly do it all! We couldn’t be happier with our experience and are so thankful to be part of the Lakestones community."

As a parent, it gives me so much peace of mind knowing that she is in a safe, nurturing, and happy environment. A very special thank you to Mrs. Jada and Chelsey! ❤️ They are incredibly caring, patient, and loving with my daughter, and you can truly see how much they care about the children. My little one feels comfortable and happy with them, which means everything to us. We are so grateful to have found Lakestone Academy and truly appreciate all the love and attention they give our daughter. I would highly recommend them to any parent looking for a caring and trustworthy daycare! ❤️"

We chose this school because we wanted a safe, caring environment where our child could learn and grow. Although we’ve only been here for two days, we’ve already had a great first impression of the teachers and staff. Everyone has been welcoming and helpful, and we appreciate how comfortable they’ve made us feel. We’re excited to see how much our child grows and learns throughout the year. I would tell another family that it seems like a warm and caring place where the staff truly wants the best for the children. ❤️
Common Questions

Everything You Need to Know

What does "licensed" actually mean?

It means the state has verified the school meets its standards for ratios, safety, staff screening and training, and daily operations, and continues to check. Licensing is enforceable: schools that fall short face real consequences, which is exactly why it matters.

State requirements vary a little from state to state, but our expectations don't. Every school in our family follows the same approach to learning, the same safety practices, and the same commitment to trained, background-checked teachers.

Watch the classrooms: engaged children, attentive teachers, clean and secure spaces, and a rhythm everyone seems to know. Our guide to choosing a school walks through exactly what to look for, and every question worth asking on a tour.

By making growth follow the standard instead of the other way around. Every school in our family, newest to longest-standing, uses the same curriculum, the same safety practices, and the same teacher training, with a dedicated support team helping every director hold the bar. When a school joins our family, our first job isn't changing what makes it special. It's making sure the standards underneath it are the ones every Otter Learning family can count on.
